Jewell Gerald Powell

Founder

Jewell was born in the culturally vibrant country of Peru where she first developed her talents in dance. After coming to the U.S. she followed her heart and the love of her own children to dedicate her life to making the lives of children from around the world happier through various non-profit endeavors. Jewell is working on her degree as Dance Therapist, and Dancing With Our Future Stars is her dream made reality.

William "Bill" Powell

Founder

Bill came from a modest background and inspired by his father, established himself in the corporate world as one of the top leaders in his industry. Guided by his strong family values, Bill actively seeks to use his time supporting many non-profit causes for kids both locally and internationally.

​Ida Johnson

Program Director and Education Coordinator

Id​a is a born and raised Camarillo local with multiple licenses in Zumba® Fitness formats. She is currently working on her next certification with the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. Ida has been teaching since 2011 and has had the honor to work with kids & teens throughout Ventura County in various programs.

Liliana Means

Education Coordinator

Liliana was born in Colombia where she mastered her dance skills through various training teams before moving to the  U.S. She holds multiple Zumba® Fitness licenses and is currently working on her Group X certification through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. She was asked by the Department of Bellas Artes of the University of Quindío to teach music and dance to children affected by the 1999 earthquake in Armenia, Colombia. 

Patricia Martin 

Education Coordinator

 Patricia Martin, originally from Sacramento, California, is currently a dancer in the Southern California area. She has been training in the style of ballet since the age of two and expand her training with tap, jazz, contemporary, modern, lyrical and pointe work. She recently graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with an emphasis on choreography. Prior to graduation, Patricia received undergraduate recognition with the UCSB Theater & Dance Tonia Shimin Award for Excellence and Promise in the Field of Dance, as well as a full scholarship to study at the Dance Education Laboratory located at the 92Y in New York City. 

Geraldine Kimball

Marketing/Public Relations Director and

Instructor

Geraldine (Gerry) was born in and raised on Long Island in New York before making her way to Ventura County in 1985. Gerry has studied music, dance and musical instruments.

Gerry has worked with the public and children for over 20 years as a Trade Show Exhibit Manager, In Marketing and Business Development. Gerry Has worked closely with NASA in supporting NASA's Mission of keeping children interested in Math and in the Sciences. She is a license Zumba®️Fitness Instructor, Zumba®️kids and Zumba Kids Jr. , and Zumba Gold Instructor. Gerry hopes to bring joy of dance to more students.

Yahui Tsai 

Instructor

Since she was a young girl growing up in Taiwan, Yahui has always been passionate about music and dance. After High School, she moved to Los Angeles to study Linguistics at UCLA. Yahui’s multicultural experience was enhanced by her life and education in Los Angeles. Yahui began to study dance, and became an official Zumba Kids and Zumba Kids Jr. instructor. Yahui teaches dance and Chinese composition to children in the Ventura County.

Terri Grayson

Instructor

Terri Grayson was born and raised in Southern California and developed a love of dance in high school where she participated in school performances. She spent a rewarding 18 years working with children with special needs in local elementary schools. Now retired, and a license Zumba®️Fitness and Zumba®️Kids, and Zumba Gold Instructor, Terri is honored to bring the joy of dance and exercise to local school children.

Cece Lior

Instructor

Cece was raised and educated in Ventura County where she

continues to reside with her family. She loves teaching a variety

of fitness classes to people of all ages and strives to make a

difference in their lives. She holds several fitness certifications, as

well as licenses for multiple Zumba® formats. In addition, she is a

Group Fitness Coordinator for a local fitness facilitiy.

Prior to being involved in the fitness industry and raising her

family, she worked as a Program Analyst for the U. S. Navy.

Maye Juarez

Instructor

Mayela (Maye) was born and raised in Oxnard, CA. She has over 21 years of experience being involved in various youth programs throughout Ventura & Los Angeles County. Mayela loves to inspire her community to understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle through dance & music. She spreads joy, positive energy & enthusiasm every where she goes.

Fernando Juarez

Instructor

Fernando Juarez is a Ventura County native. He has a passion for health and fitness and loves to inspire and motivate others to live a healthy and fit lifestyle. He has experience in personal training as well as multiple fitness formats. Fernando's uplifting personality & infectious positivity make him a true asset to the DWOFS team and everyone around him.
